Chassis
The 3mm 7075 anodized Swiss T6 chassis is machined strategically in low stress areas to be as light and as strong as possible. Material below the engine, fuel tank, and diffs have been removed to allow for the lowest possible center of gravity. Strong aluminum chassis braces make for a ultra stiff chassis platform.
The extra robust 5mm 7075 machined rear brace is keyed on the rear shock tower and guarantees overall chassis stiffness.
The radio tray, front upper deck and disk brake deck are all machined from high quality black graphite, and feature countersunk holes.
The chassis features rigid front and rear diff housings on which all suspension parts are mounted. Easy access to both front and rear differentials makes maintenance super easy.
The radio tray features universal transponder holder that accepts standard transponder as well the personal one.
The side guards are hold on four places instead of standard three.
Suspension
The XB8 features a revolutionary innovative I.S.S. (Integrated Suspension Settings?) design. All adjustment possibilities are completely integrated that allows complete set-up without changing or replacing any parts - no need for optional caster or toe-in blocks.
XRAY stylish black with silver edging front and rear shock towers are CNC machined from 4mm high-grade 7075 Swiss T6 aluminum. Shock towers are strategically lightened to reduce weight without compromising strength. Multiple shock positions allow for numerous suspension settings.
The front shock tower features XRAY's I.S.S. composite eccentric bushings that enable quick and easy adjustment of front upper arm angle to compensate for lower arm anti-dive settings.
Suspension blocks are CNC-machined from 5mm high-grade 7075 Swiss T6 aluminum. Each block features I.S.S composite bushings that allow anti-dive, anti-squat, and toe adjustments.
The front suspension blocks enable declension suspension settings for progressive damping setting.
Arms mounts feature hardened 4mm hinge pins and are completely captured, to endure long runs. XRAY's engineering provides suspension solution with no C-clips anywhere on the car.
XRAY tested hundreds of composite mixtures for the suspension parts. The exclusive mixture decided on, is a perfect balance between reliability and performance. The long suspension arm itself is rigid enough to provide a responsive feel yet soft enough to survive extra long main events.
The kit includes both front and rear anti-roll bars that are hold firmly to both diff cases.
XB8 features unique revolutionary C-hub suspension with Integrated Adjustable Caster™ (XRAY's patent) that enables to adjust the same stock C-block through the entire caster angle range. No optional caster blocks needed!
The C-block features inclined kingpin design for increased steering and stability. The rear uprights feature an extensive range of roll center and camber rise settings.
Super lightweight composite steering blocks are genuine innovation in the design and functionality. Each block features an inset steel bushing that is molded-in into the steering block. This concept enables the king pin screws to be firmly held in the steel threaded bushing while the end of the screw is self-locked in composite to prevent the screws from loosening during racing. The steering blocks are molded from the lightweight yet very strong and durable special composite.
Fully adjustable turnbuckles are made from premium Hudy Spring Steel™. A handy turnbuckle wrench is included in the kit.
Shocks
XB8 features CNC-machined hard-anodized shock bodies with aluminum caps. Rubber boots prevent dirt ingression. You even have two different spring hardness to choose from! The set includes three (1.3, 1.4 and 1.5mm) pistons which are installed on heavy duty 3.5mm piston rods made from Hudy steel.
Shocks can be mounted in front and rear both on shock towers and arms in multiple different positions that were thoroughly tested and analyzed both in virtual reality as well on the tracks to offer the widest possible range of shock positions. This guarantees sufficient suspension travel and best set-up for either flat European tracks or large bumpy US tracks.
Drive train
The world's lightest 1/8 off-road drive train guarantees reduced rotating weight and increased performance. All the drive train parts (drive shafts, diffs, and brake outdrives) are ultra lightweight, strategically weight-reduced, and are manufactured from the premium high-quality top-secret Hudy Spring Steel™. Wheel axles and wheel nuts are made from aircraft light aluminum, hard anodized for increased life and low wear.
XB8 features high precision rubber sealed ball bearings on which all the drive train parts ride.
Differentials
Rubber sealed composite differential housings are manually precision ground after the molding process to guarantee a perfect fit with no vibration. Differential gears are made from pressed steel, heat treated, and machined for ultra-precision and smooth operation.
Main gears use Hudy steel (Spur, Pinion, Crown gear and Clutch bell) and are machined individually using a precision gear machine.
Engine, Clutch, and Brakes
High grade CNC-machined engine mounts, black anodized and then milled to create the stylish XRAY luxury look, help to dissipate engine heat.
The flywheel is CNC-machined from high-quality aluminum, hard anodized for increased life. The clutch features 3 aluminum shoes and sets of 0.9mm and 1.0mm springs to choose from to set ideal clutch engagement.
The ventilated brake disks are laser cut, heat treated and ground from both sides to guarantee vibration free operation. The break pads feature high quality Ferodo pads.
Brake bias can easily be adjusted via brake linkage. The central differential housing is split for easy diff access.
Fuel Tank and Nitro-Related
The fuel tank includes an integrated stone filter and splash guard to protect the brakes from fuel. The tank is mounted using rubber grommets to absorb vibrations. A large capacity aluminum fuel filter is included as standard; the fuel filter is different from others as it is captured in a holder and will not turn as the result of vibration. Small composite holders secure thick 5.5mm silicone fuel tubing.
The smooth flowing effective air filter is made from two parts. Air filter oil is included as standard. The universal rubber allows it to fit any standard 1/8 buggy motor.
Steering
The steering plate is precision machined from 7075 Swiss T6 aluminum with black finish and stylish XRAY silver edging. The steering place features 3 different Ackermann settings for precision steering setting. The servo saver rides on very durable steel holders.
Body, Wing & Wheels
The aerodynamic rear wing is molded from a very flexible and virtually unbreakable composite mixture. At critical areas, all edges are reinforced to prevent breaking. The rear wing holders feature aluminum braces and the wing holders are mounted firmly to the rear shock tower. The holder offers many different wing-mounting positions to guarantee the optimum setting for different tracks.
Stylish XRAY Starburst wheels are molded from light but very durable material.
Electronics
The graphite radio tray features a lay down steering servo and upright throttle/brake servo arrangement; both servos are placed on the chassis centerline. Clever XRAY lay down servo mounts can be mounted in three different positions to accommodate different servos. Heavy-duty steering horns are included to withstand long mains and abuse.
The large molded radio box features a clean design and layout that places the weight in key areas for a balanced car. XRAY even includes a FREE XRAY 1200NiMH 5-cell 6.0V receiver battery pack and receiver harness. For racers not using a radio switch, a handy molded cover is included to guarantee a leak free radio box!
The tight antenna holder will make sure the antenna tube stays attached even if the car is flipped.

Bonus! The XB8 kit includes Hudy profiTOOLS for easy and comfortable assembly and servicing of the car. The set includes 1.5mm, 2.0mm, and 2.5mm hex wrenches, and a Philips screwdriver. The kit also includes a universal tool that will fit on all nuts and turnbuckles, and a separate 17mm wrench for the wheel nuts.
